Directed by Thaddeus O'Sullivan. Though not quite as inventive as his work on Ravenous, Albarn's pieces are definitely the album's highlights.
Was this review helpful? It's about as historically realistic as Disney's Pocohontas.... Kevin Spacey is Michael Lynch, an ordinary decent criminal who loves playing some games with the cops. This was a fine movie, of the type that American film makers seem utterly incapable of making these days. Overall I'd say the film was watchable. Cahill made fools of the police and local authorities, not to mention the IRA, which earned him a sort of "Folk Hero" status as well as making him many enemies. However, acting only cannot save the movie, it is after all easy to forget, and certainly cannot provide the answer to the key question - can ordinary decent criminals really be ordinary decent humans? Linda Fiorentino plays Lynch's wife, and does a fair job with the Dublin accent, and Colin Farrell, who IS Irish, doesn't have an accent problem, but his part is so small, you hardly notice him. producer of all sorts of music. 5 out of 8 found this helpful. Based on the real-life figure of Dublin gangster Martin Cahill (his story was also told in THE GENERAL, released in 1998), this fast-moving crime flick has little new to offer, but is worth a look for fans of the genre. Ordinary Decent Criminal is a classic gangster movie in modern-day Ireland. (incidentally, John Voight does a excellent regional accent in that film, so it can be done!). Pass on this one. All in all, 'Ordinary Decent Criminal' is anything but a decent film. I'm not so sure he could go that far. His name and photo, does appear on the cover, but is only there for drawing power.
