Actually, a lot confused. I mean it included some themes that I have yet seen in HR but the execution of it seemed quick and the story in between dragged and I didn't connect well with the characters.
One of my favourite things I like to read about is renditions of classic novels and one in particular is the renditions of Jane Austen's fiction. People were intimidated by her self-possession and no-nonsense demeanor.

Plus Fanny is a stellar girl and a strong character! A well written romance with enjoyable characters and nice story.

I had a couple issues but overall I greatly enjoyed the passion between the two main characters. Now of course, it was impossible to bring across some themes and of them all so far this one was probably the loosest of the retellings, but it was spunky, sweet and engaging. Fanny has a love interest, she is in love with her best friend Tran - one of the only few Asian guys at the Academy and her Mischief and Mayhem partner in crime. This is a retelling of Mansfield Park and I have to say that Franny is such a strong character. Second you will miss out on understanding the other students as well as the mystery that is going on at the school. I would like to think I am that way too. One of the commenters remarked that Gray managed to put him into quite a few different (also villanous) roles and[this time as Henry Crawford, and I think it was very well done. She has crafted a story from Jane Austen and put her own personal spin on it. Maybe 4.5 stars is better because the couplI don’t know if I should give this a 4 or a 4.5 because it’s got a mix of both. On the one side you’ve got that 4.5 read with a sexier than sexy alpha, Jack Devlin, who does some wickedly scorching sex scenes unlike anything I’ve ever seen in traditional historical romance (we’re talking glimpses of Emma Holly-like writing here!) I really enjoyed reading it.I honestly cannot stop raving about this series enough: Austen + strong females + camaraderie + Enid Blyton-ness + fun = win, in my books. Upon second reading, I can definitely say that this was another winner from this author.
