The anxiety of a Turbulent personality stems from sensitivity to his or her surroundings, and while this sensitivity can at times lead to the “spotlight effect” – the sensation that all eyes are on you – the feeling is not entirely without basis. They’re also conceived (at least in pop culture) as less reliable and responsible. Turbulent personality types tend to notice little problems and often do something about them before they become larger ones. They may lean toward assuming all will be positive. Indeed, one could make the case that accurate scoring on neuroticism requires higher levels of emotional self-awareness and emotional honesty, which is what we’d expect to see from introverts and feelers. Assertive Virtuosos generally show more confidence in their knowledge than Turbulent Virtuosos. I too lament the use of the use of another “T” variable insofar as it’s cumbersome to constantly spell out Extraverts are characteristically more optimistic (i.e., less realistic) than introverts, which may incentivize them to disregard their negative emotions, while thinkers commonly see emotional matters as impractical and not worth their time.
