They focus on the case and occasionally argue over points of view which is a little funny in my opinion. Not really useless banter, it’s more like two guys just discussion the topic points and sometimes the Captain makes a joke. Been listening for almost a year now.I can not listen to Thinking Sideways, because they lack critical thinking skills.Oooh, I had to unsubscribe from Martinis and Murder recently. Whenever I see a list like this without it, I have to ask--because, frankly, I haven't found a True Crime podcast anywhere near Casefile's level. Are you familiar with Casefile? I went onto finish it because a redditor raved about it, and you didn't miss much. My search skills are subpar so I never know how to search for certain types of True Crime shows. I just finished the 2nd season of Broadchurch (loved it) and I would like some recommendations on what to binge-watch next. I saw on here the other day about the 15 best true crime podcasts, so I decided to make my own list. I couldn’t get into MFM but I really like True Crime Garage, it’s my second favorite after Casefile.
It kinda lightens it up a little.New comments cannot be posted and votes cannot be castPress J to jump to the feed. The Keddie Cabin murders is another great case to research.I was just curious to hear which unsolved case you all were most interested in. Robin Wardner (sp?) I've watched Cold Justice and Killing Fields on Hulu and I'm looking for more. Be civil.
court junkie is awesome though. There is a bit on True Crime Garage but I don’t think it’s as bad as My Fav Murder. They can only go so far with the whole making Matt the bartender feel like shit shtick. Love the topics, hate the hosts--so much so that I stopped listening. These are sweet. Entire phone calls with incidental players are played for one tiny inane detail.I think it's the difference between an amateur effort and someone who has storytelling experience and understands the basics of shaping a story. I've been really into Cold Case shows on Netflix and Hulu lately. I really enjoyed shows like True Detective (especially the first season), The Wire, Sherlock, and Fargo. 67% Upvoted. The Sodder children case is really interesting as well. I feel like I’ve watched them all but that can’t be possible. He finally got arrested. save hide report.
I don't want funny...it's what turned me off My Favourite Murder...Also good: Court Junkie, and Sword and Scale (though there's some hate for the host)I really can't get into my favorite murder, no matter how much I want to support the ladies in podcasting... the humor just falls flat for me.
Poor editing, general lack of research and the humour gets tiring after a while. This thread is archived. I want a podcast to have more of a conversational feel to it -- even if it is just one person. That one was REALLY good. It's fun to see what others like and why. I'd never seen them or ever really watched any of these crime-type shows (forensic files, etc). It's like writing... just because anybody could write its doesn't mean they can write well. There are a lot of podcasts that do not give me any insight and just tell me what I already know meanwhile journalists actually dig up stuff and do their in depth research and sleuthing, which is worth a listen.definitely agree on your list, have a couple to add:True crime garage is great but I highly suggest Canadian true crime podcast and the 4 part series of Robert pickton it was brilliant also the tori Stafford Small town Murder is brilliantly good.
For those who don’t know this case, Yaser Abdel Said shot and killed his two daughters after they had run away in fear of their father. I couldn't get past episode one of "Unconcluded" because the intro was so repetitive and long, it seemed like the story would never start.
"Dirty John" is written by journalists in conjunction with Wondery and I couldn't stop listening. I like those shows even though they can be quite controversial. Also, TCAtT - great podcast, but Gibby “mispronouncing” or “misremembering” cultural references is kind of tiring and wasn’t funny after the first time.Even though his audio isn't the best, I've been obsessed with True Murder with Dan Zupanski.
