It would be fine with a 2070S. i suspect rtx3000 will cost much higher than rtx2000... There is this obnoxious inflation of GPUs that has been happening for several years now.
Depending on the price of a 3000 series, well lets get out our crystal ball, the 1080Ti when came out $1,300 AUD then they stop making them, after that it got even better, RTX 2080Ti is here $2,599 Aud so if that is so, then my crystal ball tells me the RTX 3080Ti probably be around 3000 to 5000 AUD.
The biggest issue I have with the 2060 is that the penalty with RTX on is huge and it makes some games not really playable, whereas the 2070s and above have the horsepower to have a good experience. I think it would be worth waiting for the launch to see how things look. Game type would matter for how many fps your cpu could push, but wouldn’t matter for the gpu. All that said, I have had great success selling used cards on ebay, I feel like they are one of the easiest PC parts to sell (and usually the box fits perfectly in the USPS pre made shipping box!). If you want to buy now, then buy now. I am scared that the stock for Next Gen will not be available when the game lauch if RTX 3000 series is predict to be release on September 2020.
