The documentary is said to include new interviews and analysis in the case of the unresolved murder of the three teenage girls in Valencia, Spain, in 1992. [Unresolved Murders] The Alcasser Girls. I knew it would be hard to watch as in València, where the murders happened and where I am from, this tragedy is part of our culture, of us. I hadn’t either until I heard the podcast about it.
I'm just about to watch Netflix's new 4 part documentary about "The Alcàsser Murders", so I wanted to open a discussion thread for us here. The documentary is said to include new interviews and analysis in the case of the unresolved murder of the three teenage girls in Valencia, Spain, in 1992.Brief overview from the Wiki: Miriam García Iborra, Antonia "Toñi" Gómez Rodríguez and Desirée Hernández Folch, known as the Alcàsser Girls (Spanish: Las niñas de Alcàsser), were three teenage girls from Alcàsser, Valencia, Spain who were kidnapped, raped, tortured and murdered after hitchhiking to get to a nightclub in the nearby town of Picassent in November 1992. Of course, that wasn't our country first rape-murder case, but its unusual level of brutality and sadism, along with the media coverage -tasteless journalism work, I must say, and most Spaniards share my views on this- sparked a insidious fear in the back of our collective mind. Starting with the paper incriminating Anglés, it's the only evidence they have against them.
And with all the mistakes the police made, it gets harder and harder to believe they weren't covering up for someone. What really gets me is the scale of the murders and the cover-up (if there was one). )I have nothing to add about the case (you did a good job), but I'd like to mention that Picassent and Catadau where also mentioned in the Macastre "murders". That stretch of road was bound to have kids coming and going. Fooled him!" Warning: This post contains graphic descriptions of harm done to children. He is a disgusting person. The foundation.
While I believe that two of the Macastre kids died because of an overdose, the third body believed to belong to Pilar, was a murder and was found not far from where the Alcasser girls where buried. Now I just found this particular write-up....gah I have so much reading to do! Maria Luz said in her statement to police that the girls said they were going to Coolor, and as they watched the girls walk away, that appeared to be the direction they were headed.8:10 to 8:20 PM – Jose Antonio Cano, a 16-year-old acquaintance of the girls, reported seeing the girls walking in Picassent in the direction of Coolor. Ester did not tell her what she claimed she already knew- that the 3 friends were in fact headed to Coolor.8:15 PM – 21-year-old Francisco Jose Hervas and his girlfriend, Maria Luz Lopez, saw the girls sitting at a stop light at the edge of the Alcasser city line. So infuriating. He had just left Coolor himself and was on his motorcycle, headed to the town of Silla.8:15 PM – Maria Dolores Badal reported seeing the girls hitchhiking on a corner opposite her apartment building. That it is clearly the main drag probably also means store lots and the like where a group could hide relatively out in the open...kids driving to a spot and maybe doing a little pre-club drinking. Ester told her she didn’t know. I really do plan on listening to some podcasts over Thanksgiving & Christmas breaks. I'm not the definitive expert on this case; I have just been fully absorbed in it and hoped to share the story with others. I may get downvoted for this but, while it is completely unethical, I don't judge Miriam's father. I really think it is not just a bad police work.So many signs point to something larger at play than just a straightforward rape/murder. Disgusting. Whenever I refer to the Netflix documentary, the one I mean is called The Alcasser Murders. God knows how many scumbags actually raped and tortured them., we most likely will never know.I know, and I find that very upsetting. The girls, who lived in Alcasser, were heading to a nearby town called Picassent to attend a class party at a discotheque. I know you do a podcast but I’m a mom and a teacher and my days are filled with nonstop talking so when I get the opportunity to enjoy some quiet time I prefer to read (hope that doesn’t sound rude! Two blocks further down the road (in the direction of Coolor) was the Picassent Civil Guard police station. The Badal sighting was the last time anyone saw the girls alive.- Do you believe all the witness’ statements? Also, do not google this case if graphic images upset you. I think what she meant by “shyly” is the girls were nervous and selectively hitchhiking (only signaling if they liked the looks of the people in the car), but I couldn’t find clarification on her comment. There, a resident witnessed the girls climb into a sedan – thought to be a white Opel Corsa – carrying a group of men. hey! Do you think the girls were going there? No biological evidence, they raped tortured and killed them but there was no sign of blood, semen or hair in the house or in the pit. Short Summary of the Case. That afternoon, Francisco Antonio Soria, a friend of the girls, asked Desiree if she and her friends were going to the party at Coolor that night. It just seems so wrong that even if those responsible were identified at this point, they might not be put away for it at all.Interesting write-up!
