Story I have wanted to try reading some eventually, and have finally gotten to doing so with this book. A distant third behind THE SEVEN PERCENT SOLUTION and THE WEST END HORROR.

Her character is written like she is in a perpetual daze.
Nicholas Meyer's pastiches always sound like weird fan fiction - Sherlock Holmes meets Sigmund Freud, Sherlock Holmes meets Bram Stoker (or rather breaks in his flat) and in this case: Sherlock Holmes meets the Phantom of the Opera - but they always manage to make a great and authentic Sherlock Holmes adventure.

There are a number of different takes on Sherlock Holmes these days, and few of them try to capture the character and spirit of storytelling as set down by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. i was hooked after the first page.

Overall
Everything by Mayer is, in my opinion, amazing...This book was on my to-read list as soon as I heard of it—several years before I knew Meyer had in fact written a whole series of Sherlock Holmes books—because it combines two of my favorite pieces of fiction, Sherlock Holmes and the Phantom of the Opera.
In 1977, Meyer was nominated for an Adapted Screenplay Academy Award for adapting his own 1974 novel, There is a lot of it out there.
Overall It was fun but nothing exceptional and not as good as 7% Solution.
She does not even know who she is, although she has a vague recollection of the name Sherlock Holmes. Performance There is a lot of it out there.
Performance
It is 1873, and as the economies of Europe threaten to crumble, Mycroft Holmes finds himself in service to the Crown once again.
Certain aspects of Gaston's book was changed to better fit the tale just as certain bits of Sherlock's timeline was changed to fit Doyle's stories.
With a title like Nicholas Meyer graduated from the University of Iowa with a degree in theater and film-making, & is a film writer, producer, director and novelist best known for his involvement in the Star Trek films. As a quick note before I get started, Nicholas Meyer is a Big Name.

Then again, I prefer when stories stick to the source, meaning using Leroux's origins for Erik as opposed to an accident in midlife.
