No one had any notice. After many ups and downs since the last lay off in 2014, Faro Technologies is doing it again.
The mood is foul at Faro as employees know 350 plus layoffs are coming. Morale is low and people are scared of losing their job.Great products that are supported well keeps my income high and consistent. The environment is diverse. Which was less than one month pay in my case.Decent work-life balance, however, you are so remote that you don't feel connected to the company. They outsourced some of it and kept an employee who can't speak proper English and needs a professional speech class over experienced staff.
That represents almost 1/3 of the total employee head count.
I was on the road, HR called, told me I was one of over 500 being laid off and told me to go home. In accounting they said the same thing, management over there was awful, like high school.

The CIO seemed nice enough but all the managers under her had no leadership skills and the lack of communication was deafening.I enjoyed working at FARO but after almost a year of doing my job plus my bosses after she left I had been told I would be promoted but the CFO at the time (no longer there) kept finding excuses not to do a promotion nor pay me a reasonable salary for all that I was responsible for.

The products are amazing, their sales execution is unmatched, and they understand the value of developing new and better products. Company is going through drastic head count reductions in order to "Maximize shareholder value" . In my experience, when mistakes are made, those responsible rectify quickly.Great products, industry leading support and innovative product development It is completely a joke to have these guys serve in these important positions. Talented people really know their stuff.Even though the company is profitable and actively hiring, they are quick to lay people off without warning.

I have no complaints about FARO at all. Management is terrible.

What are the steps alo…I have worked at Cameron using Autodesk Inventor. They had no idea what direction they wanted to go, their process for getting there was an absolute chaotic mess, and I had more meetings there than I had time to work (most of it in an effort to keep management up to speed). This is a great company. They said someone got mad and gave their two weeks last year and reported the director to HR for poor petty behavior making fun of other employees and favoring 3 or 4 employees. the managers always make themselves available when those that are not part of your department.you're on your own and you rarely get the management assistance you request.
